Sounds of Starlight was established by Andrew
Langford in 1996. It is centrally located in Alice Springs'
Todd Mall and features a modern theatre and retail gift shop/art
gallery, visited by almost 20,000 travellers each year from
as far away as Japan, Alaska, Sweden and Turkey.
By day, the theatre becomes a demo-studio
for would-be musicians learning to play the didgeridoo and
visitors wanting to discover more about the traditional art
and culture unique to Central Australia. During April to November,
the Sounds of Starlight transforms into an exciting
and energetic venue for Andrew and his accompanying musicians
who interpret various stories and traditions with a wide range
of didgeridoos, percussion and keyboards.
The staff at the Sounds of Starlight company
are talented musicians committed to providing fun and memorable
visitor experiences. They have over twenty years experience
of living in remote communities and working closely with Aboriginal
people.
Sounds of Starlight is a member of the Australian
Tourism Export Council, the Central Australia Tourism Industry
Association, Tourism Top End, and has a good working relationship
with the Northern Territory Tourist Commission.
